About Mitzie Sundberg, PGA MBA

With a vision to help others excel in the Business of Golf, Mitzie Sundberg founded Visionary Golf Solutions and GolfProBizCoach in 2009. As a creative visionary with a keen sense for business Mitzie has created a niche for helping Golf Professionals grow their businesses and in turn helping the golf facilities increase revenues as well. As Mitzie puts it, ” In today’s times, the way to success for the golf industry is through the Golf Teaching Professionals”

Mitzie is a long time member of the Professional Golfers Association of America (PGA). She also is a CHEK Certified Golf Biomechanic as well as a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Certified Golf Fitness Instructor and CHEK Holistic Lifestyle Coach– Level I. Physical conditioning and health is a passion Mitzie has pursued since her professional playing days. Her experience over several decades in golf gives her the belief that simple physical conditioning makes the game easier to learn, easier to improve and can then truly become the “game of a lifetime”

Mitzie started playing golf at age 7, in a small town on the plains of Colorado. With no organized sports available for girls, Mitzie turned to golf as the outlet for her athletic abilities. In the 1960’s there was not much competition for the use of the golf course, leaving plenty of opportunity to play golf, as much as 36 to 54 holes some summer days.

Mitzie picked the college she wanted to play for, The University of Northern Colorado, north of Denver and earned a scholarship, the very first golf scholarship ever awarded to a woman. She won several local tournaments but the highlight of her collegiate career was earning All American Honors her senior year. Mitzie played professionally on the woman’s tours throughout the United States, before settling into a golf teaching career.

Since that time she has lived and worked in Southern California for over 20 years. Mitzie has received accolades for her leadership in the golf industry, such as her completion of the Advanced Professional Training Program offered by the PGA of America. Also, she has twice been voted to the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Chapter of the Southern California PGA. During her time on the board she chaired the Apprentice Committee and helped many young professionals through the rigorous training necessary to become a member of the PGA.

In 1998 Mitzie graduated from Chapman University in Orange, California with a Masters Degree in Business Administration. She then was appointed to General Manager of one of the busiest golf courses in Los Angeles County as well as the entire United States. Mitzie excelled as General Manager and she also provided assistance to other managers within her district. After several years in this position and many awards later Mitzie realized that she needed to help other professionals and businesses with her expertise.

With her ongoing interest in marketing and the internet, in early 2009 Mitzie completed Internet Marketing Training at the University of San Francisco. Soon after, Visionary Golf Solutions and GolfProBizCoach.com were born. The companies are innovative compassionate companies providing fresh ideas and business solutions, coaching and consulting for teaching professionals and golf facilities throughout the world
